How to Make Doll Beds
Tuesday, March 10, 2009
This project was a blast!!! My girls have been wanting doll beds for years, but when we look at the prices in toy catalogs for nice wooden beds, we have not wanted to make the investment. Therefore, one afternoon we created these really easy, wooden beds for their dolls. All the dolls fit whether they are playing with baby dolls, Groovy Girls or American Dolls.
Tools needed:
hand saw
brad gun or hammer and 1 1/4 inches finish nails (if you use hammer and nails, you’ll need to pre-drill the holes or the wood will split when you bang in the nails. Use a drill and a very small drill bit, like 3/16 or smaller. Hold your nail up to it and make sure the bit is slightly smaller.)
wood glue
This was a fun and easy project with minimal skills needed. We finished in an afternoon and the beds have been a great addition to the girls play time for several years. Original Pattern and Instructions: $13
